The Richfield Hometown 4th of July Committee continued its 2012 fundraising season with the 1st Annual Beer Bust and Silent Auction Fundraiser at Poor Richard’s Common House in Bloomington on Saturday evening.
Members of the community gathered to socialize, drink beer for a good cause, and bid on silent auction items that included donations from the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, Denny’s 5th Avenue Bakery, Johnston’s Sales and Service (who donated an AWESOME red “Made in the USA” Riccar vacuum), Dairy Queen, Walmart, Q. Cumbers, Old Country Buffet, Panera, Izatys, Lia Sophia, Penn Auto Care and many more! All funds raised will go directly to maintaining and improving the Richfield 4th of July Celebration.
Since 1980, it has been the mission of the Richfield 4th of July Committee to advance and promote the observance of Independence Day in the city of Richfield, MN. The objective is to provide a celebration which can provide patriotic expression, family participation, amusement, community cohesiveness and homecoming.
Richfield’s 4th of July celebration is a community and family focused event that offers something for everyone. Veteran’s Park is the host site for most of the events. Events include Family Night, the Parade, Carnival, music, Street Dance, Fireworks and the Car Show.
Attendance was solid and most of the items in the silent auction had bids as of 7pm. More importantly everyone seemed to be having a great time! If you are interested in more information or in helping out with the Richfield Hometown 4th of July contact Katie Robison katier(at)richfield4thofjuly.com
